Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens is investigating the recent sudden deaths of nine monkeys.
Hong Kong's oldest zoo is investigating the sudden deaths of nine monkeys over a span of two days with experts being called in on Tuesday to assist.On Sunday, eight monkeys were found dead at the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, and by Monday, another died after displaying strange behavior, according to a statement from Hong Kong's leader, John Lee.
In response to the deaths, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung convened an emergency meeting on Monday with various governmental departments, including the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and the Department of Health.
