The Ministry of Transport aims to develop Krabi International Airport into an "Airport for Regional Development" that seamlessly connects to key tourist destinations. The seaplane service will serve as an important alternative for accessing islands and coastal areas conveniently, quickly, and more efficiently.
Additionally, the ministry is currently establishing the "Strategic Integration Committee to Drive Waterborne Aircraft Operations (Seaplane)" to integrate the work of government agencies, experts, and the private sector, defining guidelines and accelerating the operation under aviation safety standards.
The Seaplane project is not only about elevating travel patterns and the tourism experience for high-quality, high-spending tourists but also about generating economic value and driving the growth of the tourism sector especially Andaman region, including aviation hotels, restaurants, service businesses, emergency medical services, and maritime security missions.
It is expected that the project will stimulate a new form of aviation business, connecting Andaman tourism seamlessly, attracting high-potential tourists from around the world, and generating multi-dimensional economic value for the country
